Now I’ve heard that the background here on the site does something wonky in the new Apple OS 8.02 for iPads. Anyone else getting that? I rely on your expertise in these areas, since I don’t typically have the newest cool stuff or run the newest cool software or have a brilliant staff of people who look after these kinds of things.
“Yes, That’s correct.”
That’s the answer to so many comments that come our way. “You’ll never believe me when I tell you this…” and “I don’t understand…” and “What’re you, some kinda smart aleck?”
On the other hand, so many times that people start with “You’ll never guess…” they’re right only because they don’t give us the chance. If they’d shut up talking, we might take a stab at a few guesses. Say what you mean, people. You want us to guess or not? Know what you want before you lay it out in front of us.
Here we are again, guessing where in the world Hubris (in sticker form) might be. In this first photo, you see that he’s on a traffic barricade. Carefully study the construction of the barricade. Look closely at the plants behind, and at the landforms. Hmmmmmmmm.
In the next shot, the Team Hubris Member has widened the field a bit… Oh, the telltale concrete, the dead give-away of the power and telephone lines. There’s only ONE place on Earth where you will find guy-wires attached in just that way to a pole. Wait! The wood that pole is made of! Ah-HA!! Now, I have… nothin’.
Okay, the THIRD photo has a particular landform in it. Geologists! This particular structure is called….? Riiiiiight. So. WHERE IS HUBRIS??
So, having thrown everyone a curve ball with that last photo, here’s another one that Won seems so good at finding:
This is a letter or a number, as far as you know.
You guys play nice. Won, give everyone a few minutes head start. Who can work out where or what this is?

I’m sure we’re all suitably impressed.
But now we go to this:
By now, hopefully I’ve learned to successfully eliminate all the tricky little digital clues embedded in the photo info. Maybe not. If there’s something to find, I reckon you guys can find it.
I know I’ve said it before, but this time… surely this is a real challenge. Maybe impossible.

Okay, we’re refining our game here, and things are about to get tough.
I thought the last one was gonna be tough, but Won was tougher. In less than an hour, he figured out that a photo of a Hubris sticker inside the ‘O’ of part of a word that spelled ‘yon’ was actually from here:
Less than an hour- to pin down a specific location like this? Man. Tough.
So we’re having to up the game anyhow.
No more Mr. Nice Guy. I got a couple of photos lined up that’ll take even Won some serious hard-target work to even start a good guess.

Here we go! The ‘U’ logo is a clue. And the “Ioan & Martin GXXXXXXX entre for Fine Arts” sign should be Googleable or something, right? (Googleable is MY word. I get credit. Adjective, per G Cravens, “Googleable”. Yeah. I’m sure nobody’s ever used that word before today.)
So here’s the thing- That’s all ya get. The rest of the guessin’ can go on in the comment section this time. I’ll let the Mystery Reader who sent the photo sneak in with the answer when he or she is darn good and ready. He or she can even post misdirections and all. I’m not gonna interfere with ground rules this first time. The only one is that if someone guesses correctly- the Photographalator must then step in and say “You did it. That’s correct!” or things to that effect.

Okay. So here you go. Where is this Hubris sticker? What kind of visual cues can you pick out of this little photo (you can click on the little photo to see it larger if that helps) to identify this location? Hmmmmm. Let’s see. Is that concrete or metal or… well it’s got plants around it. And dirt. And let’s see… those stickers are roughly two inches across, so the scale of the thing…

‘Texas’ is a perfectly acceptable answer. If you know the name of this building, you tell me. The guy that sent me this photo didn’t specify. Half points if you said “China”. That’s one big star, folks.
Let me know if you would like a sticker or two to hide in plain sight. You’ll have to trust me with your address, which I won’t sell to anyone, and you’ll have to send me photos of the place you put the sticker (they go well on bikes, skateboards and helmets too, so you might get double duty out of them- decorate your gear and a neat photo op out somewhere) And you need to understand that if the authorities contact the site asking me to come to, say, Juno Alaska to scrape a sticker off a public restroom urinal, I will toss your name and address to them faster than a prison snitch with a hot girlfriend and a convertible waiting for him at the razorwire frontier. Not that Juno Alaska isn’t exactly where I’d like to visit, I’m just not keen on police officers greeting me at the airport with a paint scraper and smiles under their cool police mustaches.
