Happy April Fools’ Day. I thought about doing something tricky with the comic strip, but the trickiest thing I know how to do is make comic strips, so there you go.
First time I ever went rappelling, this sort of thing happened to me. Granted the harness we were using was rudimentary compared to the rigs you see these days, but I will point out that I was grateful to hit the level ground again, even though I was lowered posterior-first into a prickly pear cactus.
Friend of mine used to do this. Draw a turtle in the dirt if we needed rain by morning for a kayak trip. Uncanny how we seemed to see it work so often. Of course, we all REALLY, REALLY wanted it to, so we were happy to remember the hits and forget the misses.
There are always fascinating branches of possibilities when designing the stories for this comic strip. Hopefully, there are so many possibilities, and everyone’s sensibilities are so different, that I can tell an engaging story to you, and you can all still say, “Why, yes! Everyone acted within their own character and still I was surprised and entertained as they all re-acted to one another! How well you know these strange people that live in your head, Mr. Cravens!”
Sure. That’s what you’re saying every time I load up a new strip, right?
Oh, and Happy Halloween, Y’all.
