Getting those events in other towns and cities to recognize the OutdoorFest as a qualifier might be easier than getting David to care enough about Outdoors stuff that he’ll remember what any of it is called.

David could probably tell you what footwear would be suitable for an afternoon round of golf versus a morning tee time, and variations based on weather.
It’s just that the idea of various footwear for doing anything Paste does is a little beyond him.
He also couldn’t pick out a good pair of deer hunting boots if you bet him a substantial amount of money and gave him five choices to pick from.
I’m having a tough time picturing David skateboarding happily.
Determinedly, yes. Focused, yes. Injured, probably.
But not “Happily”.
And that’s a shame. It’s something you should do happily.
Poor Bob.
He probably doesn’t mind at all, but he’s gone from a surfer dude, to being a competition ringer at the first Fest and thereby a momentary Sportsmart employee, thence to a OGS employee, to a house-sitter, to a flunky for an egomaniac with a budget… while being a house-sitter again. It can’t be a calming turn of fortune. Fortunately, Bob supplies his own calm. ‘Til he’s crushed under a kid flyin’ around on a skateboard.
Bob’s my hero.
The local Bass Pro Shop has a swamp in it. There’s fish in the water, and Spanish moss and all. I think the trees are fiberglass, but that’s fine.
They used to have more boats on the water inside the store, so prospective boat buyers could actually stand on the floating boats and scope ’em out and all.
I heard the reason they don’t do that is that there are WAY more children than there are prospective boat buyers.
Sportsmart must have had a similar issue when setting up their amazing indoor forest. Lots more people looking for the bathrooms in a giant store than there are people who want to practice putting up a tent.
I saw a bear strip a ‘Lifeproof’ case off a phone once.
Cracked and peeled it like a banana with a single move.
The phone still worked after the zookeepers lured the bear to the other side of the enclosure and scooped the phone out of there.
I guess the case did its job, right?
Yay, Lifeproof!
First off- My apologies! I haven’t been updating regularly due to insane schedules and my internet was wiped out by another damned limb taking out my cable/internet for days on end.
You do NOT want to hear about the conversation I had when the text updates went from “Your technician is on his way” to “Your appointment has been rescheduled to Friday at 7 pm”. I DID, however, discover how to get a human being on the phone from a certain cable company, and I’m sure he’s very tired of having to act contrite and apologetic to every furious person who calls, but he did his job well…enough.
But on a more entertaining note. Look! Paste is pissed!
That’s gonna lead to a storyline if I have anything to say about it.
Gosh, Nikki! For being a cornerstone of the economy, the big corporate bosses are having a hard time knowing what to say to you.
How odd.
I had to think about it. It’s possible that we’ve broken those big windows, like, FOUR times now. I can’t recall exact details of each time, but four sounds right.
There was the fireworks test, the pogo sticking, and I think Paste went through on a bike once before. You can’t rely on my memory or Paste’s memory, though.
Anyone of you folks recall exactly?
It’s always nice when everyone’s on the same page, isn’t it?
Or at least reading the same book, which Paste ISN’T. He’s streaming a video of that scary empty-building-but-with-monsters thing while everyone else is reading the latest Management Paradigm Shifting Bestseller.
But as long as he doesn’t rush into anything… or as long as he doesn’t rush into anything without thinking up some really truly rash thing to add to whatever he’s rushing into… Oh, who am I kidding? Something’s gonna get broke. You wait.
