Old man ain’t gonna get his shopping done going the way he’s going.
Y’all scroll down. I got a video for you.

“Please don’t feed the animals.” There are signs all over the place like that. At the zoo, at national parks… not usually at the swamp, but we should all know better by now, anyhow.
It’s been a long, long Monday.
Go ahead and assume that what’s written here is as clever and glib as anything I’ve ever said. I mean, that’s what I sat down to write.
I shall rest up for tomorrow’s comment.
…Hans Gruber would have been so proud.
Seriously, “Hans” was the bad guy’s name in Die Hard. There was also “Karl”, and “Heinrich”, “Kristoff”, and “Fritz”. And a few others, but really… that’s a LOT of stereotypical names for deadly germans, ain’t it?
Yeah, you guys don’t need to tell me that there are people who can sing every word of the Anthem, nor tell me that anthems from other countries should be played, and what country you’re from. I tinkered around with scripts involving that stuff. This is what shook out.
Y’all sing now.
It’s Troy Thursday again. Are any of you guys web gurus? I think Troy’s gonna outgrow li’l ol’ Thursdays here, and might need a web guy.
Speaking of Web Guys… John Lotshaw (http://accidentalcentaurs.com/) isn’t a web guy, but is slumming here at Hubriscomics.com to get the site turned into something a little slicker. He’s patching up the broken archive links, too, so the next time you go back for a read-through, it might just read through. Of course, there’s no telling how monkeyed up I’ve made it, so we’ll see. E’r’body say, “Thanks, John!” …And let us know about broken links (He’s already fixed the big one you guys noticed a while back in the story arc about Hubris’ mom) or other issues you’ve noticed. Got suggestions about cleaning up the site, or adding something specific? Now’s the time to point it out.
So, if you see a face in the crowd that you think doesn’t look like you, but looks like it should look like you… just assume it’s you. I’m not taking an hour per face to make sure everyone looks like their photo. The photos might not look like the way you think you look, either, so relax and just show everyone “Hey, This is me in this cartoon!” They won’t believe you, but you know better.
I’ve raised kids. It’s a time of pride when, as the family steps out the door for a long drive, at least one of them says, “I’d better go to the bathroom before we leave.”
On the other hand, I was at a triathlon a few weeks ago. Seems like you’d get up and take care of “your business” before you get all suited up to swim, bike and run. But no. Looooong lines at the porta-johns.
Also, one of you guys emailed and asked for THIS. I offer up the URL for everyone else, just in case.
I had a discussion with a friend of mine about the Peanuts cartoon that ran this past Saturday. Peanuts is a comic strip you don’t normally have to recall the previous day’s cartoon to enjoy, but this was a Summer Camp Story arc, and involved a kid who didn’t want to talk with anyone. It seemed to be part of a running gag because it wasn’t necessarily funny by itself, but only when tied to the rest of the series.
Today’s Hubris is kinda like that. Maybe not funny by itself… but it’s part of the pace. I guess it’ll look good in the book.
Honestly? Drawing and re-drawing that goofy green table and chairs is not my favorite thing in the world, but y’know… It makes for a jolly looking cartoon.
