I don’t think it ever occurred to Mal to examine the places other than Work where emotions might come into play.
‘Til now, that is.
And there are just so darn many of them to deal with all of a sudden…

Cartoonists are working, in general, with the same material: the world, and all the juxtapositions available therein.
Having said that, I’ve done a sea salt gag before. Most cartoonists can say the same. What you wind up with, and how it differs from other cartoonists’ take on the same general subject is what separates us all.
Mine was a Buckets cartoon. The family was dining, and the youngest child says, “This is really good.” and “What’s the difference between sea salt and regular salt?” Before the parents can answer, the older brother says, “Fish Poop.” and hilarity ensues.
Now… feel free to google “sea salt” + “cartoon” and see how everyone else did it. I think you’ll find that Troy did a fine job with his sea salt.
Dating is tricky.
Especially if you’re not.
But in your head, you were.
But you don’t know what’s in the other person’s head.
‘Cause you don’t know that other person.
‘Cept, in your head, you do.
But then… you really, really don’t.
Not everyone who sent in paperwork to be included in the ‘Fest said they wanted to be in Team US. (I maintain that we’re all sort of Team US anyhow, but in an existential way or something) Here’s Nebuchanezzar IV, riding for Mal’s team!
I took only enough high school German to read Sgt. Rock comic books and generally appreciate the fact that Germans can string a hell of a lot of nouns into one very particular word.
Who watches The Watchmen? Me. I bought the big fat collected volume when it first came out, then loaned it. Then bought another one when I didn’t remember who I loaned it to that didn’t return it, then they returned my first copy. So now I have two copies of the big fat collected volume, but they have different covers. And I got the movie on iTunes and have therefore seen it a couple of times and listened to it over my shoulder while drawing maybe another four or five times.
That’s who watches The Watchmen.
Also, Lin has an amazing Rorschach costume. So he watches The Watchmen obviously.
And you?
I don’t know what you guys think, but I think that ‘down range’ can change pretty darn quick during the Unicycle Archery competition.
One stiff breeze and a sneeze, and somebody could have an arrow inconveniently installed.
This isn’t ‘Troy Thursday” info, but for anyone who wanted a ‘Team US’ shirt- There’s a sort of ad just below this Blog entry. Or just click on the ‘Outdoor Galore Store’ icon over there on the left.
So… Patreon patrons. Are you pleased at seeing the cartoons a day or so early, or does it kinda spoil seeing them here later? Or does seeing them here a little later feel like it’s spoiling the cartoons when you see them in a few weeks on GoComics.com?
Or maybe I should be asking the Non-Patrons if they’d like to be like you guys and get to see the cartoons a day early.
Or I could ask if Patrons should see the cartoons a week early or if that’d REALLY be weird.
Discuss.
