Soooooo, Dusty’s not out for a “good friend”, she’s looking for an exit hatch. A golden parachute. A series finale. Life of Leisure. Early Retirement. A genteel departure from the workaday world.
How ’bout that, Durnell.

If you got someone like Kelly around, by all means, let him do the structural thinking. Just don’t be surprised when he either takes over, or leaves for greener pastures and you can’t do without him. That kinda thing happens, you know, Dusty!
But like any advice, you can find a circumstance that recommends the opposite good advice to whatever good advice you have otherwise. “Two Heads Are Better Than One” leaps to mind, here.
Durnell might need another head to help his out, don’t you think?
Whose head do you suppose he should look for?
Why the heck isn’t anyone seeing Gryphons still flying around? Did they die out? There should be some kind of outrage! Gryphons were majestic creatures, worth our respect and part of the Ancient Greek ecosystem!
Don’t let this tragedy go unmentioned! Spread the word through social media! Get someone to make a commercial using a famous artist’s heartrending pop song! We must let the world know that a made up animal can’t disappear from someplace it never actually existed without us caring about it!
Looks like Mr. Heywood might have rented out his avian chattels before now. Starting to think he might be unsavory or something.
On the other hand, maybe the bird is the brains of the operation, and Mr. Heywood is just the front man. You never can tell.
They’re right to be more worried about ticks.
Wukilars might get one or two of them, but ticks might get ’em ALL!
It’s something to consider when you’re worrying about what’s in the dark past the treeline.
Oh, Steven, Steven, Steven… you’re about to be under a thumb, and you have no idea it’s coming.
Of course, after it’s actually happening, you may not have any idea it’s going on. So that’s okay.
Do you think Steven has Hubris’ ability to grin maniacally and keep doing whatever he was doing to begin with?
First things first- Welcome, everyone who used to see Hubris at GoComics. You had, what… ten or a dozen new strips when you got over here that hadn’t run yet at GC? So, I hope that was nice.
Second- some of us that are used to seeing four new cartoons here a week (ever since GoComics picked it up. That’s when we went to four) may have been irritated at getting three new strips here last week, like it was another of those high-deadline-and-Greg-can’t-keep-up weeks. But no! Now the deal is that we’re back to a M-W-F type schedule here at Hubriscomics.com, and Patreon.com/hubris patrons get four a week. It’s only fair. They’re horking up hard-earned shekels and bobs for some extra attention, so… there ya go.
Now, on with the show!
Kara’s acting competitive again. I think everyone’s on the same page now.
Of course, Kara wouldn’t have won at paintball… she was faintly distracted.
But let’s discuss the really important thing…
Does Bob just move so deliberately and easily that he fades into the background, or does he actually dematerialize like a swami or a yogi or one of those enlightened masters? If he’s manifesting himself at convenient places in the universe by will alone, that’s one thing. I don’t have time to become enlightened and he might as well just keep on keeping on. If he’s just humming quietly and slipping off when he feels like it, well, that’s a pretty nice bit of stagecraft, and I’d like some notes on it.
How ’bout you?
Bob know that where a person is at ‘depends’. Where do you need them to be, really? That’s where they are. You might TELL yourself you want them there right now, but you don’t NEED them there right now. You need a minute, and Bob has a sense for that.
Apparently, when people DON’T need you to be someplace, you just… aren’t. Bob’s definitely got a sense for that.
I dunno if I’d trust Bob to fix a car, or a computer, or an actual heart. But if you need him to fix your mood, or your mindset, or your metaphorical heart… y’know, I’d want him there, doing his thing.
