It’s tough, being excited for someone when they go off for a new career in the bright lights… and you know that, for you, it just means there’s nobody else that’s gonna clean the bathrooms.

Trying to get my taxes sorted out for the year. Boo.
Doing so with a new accounting company. Yay!
Have no real idea what it’s going to cost me. Boo.
But I’m recommitted to making sure I do the bookwork all year long instead of having to spend days counting up and figuring to get my tax stuff prepped. Yay!
I don’t enjoy tax time!!
But when I’m done, I get to buckle down and send the 1st Anniversary Patreon packs out, finally. Late. Y’know.
I got word today that my new stickers are about to ship. They’re less Hubrissy than previous stickers, but I reckon that all Patrons of Hubris wouldn’t mind a sticker or two along with their new thank-you packets.
I should apologize- I’m not very good yet at posting updates to Patrons. But a few time-eating projects have been dealt with, so I’ll get my act together. Thanks!
Oh, those naughty videos… Lowell doesn’t seem like the sort of person to buy bootleg copies of Xanadu (the unexpurgated version) or Voluptuous Vixens of Venus part IV in 3D. Not the one with Shatner. The original.
Does he?
Don’t you love those times when you’re asked to do a favor… and it’s exactly what you’d want to do anyhow?
I’m trying to think of a good example.
I’m sure there is one…
Well, maybe YOU can think of one.
Not enough mountains around here, that’s what’s keeping me back! You don’t wanna go riding off into the mud flats of the river delta, nosirree… that’s a lotta miles with people standing around watching you and saying, “Daggone, man, he must be, what, four or five miles down the road. Oh, look, he stopped to catch his breath again. Well, gettin’ dark, best we go home. He’ll be out of sight by morning, I reckon.”
You’ve met people like that, right? Folks with the drive and the talent to make art… and without the business sense that God gave a Goose. I’ve met a few. And a few more. I’ve bought work from a couple of them. I’ve been given art by at least two. See? No business sense.
Today’s cartoon should have a few of you saying “AH! I Knew it!!”, and hopefully, more of you saying “Oh, I see where this is going…”
And if I’m doing my job… You’ll get to keep on saying that.
I gotta get some more outdoorsy stuff for you guys to look at. And it’s in the plan, but I feel guilty when I have to draw people indoors for so long.
