I know how Hubris feels. Too much out-of-normal-routine going on.
Of course, the upside for you is that there’s less blather to read, here.
Everyone welcome FeelinForYa back to the Hubrisverse. Not just in the comic, of course, but (even better) in the comment section! Glad to know you’re still here with us!
Hey, folks.
I didn’t get a cartoon done for you today because I’m getting Hubris Book 3 ready…
So you get a look at the Cover instead of the cartoon I didn’t do.
Feel free to point out any edits you’d like to suggest.
There was a podcast a while back where the hosts talked about Hubriscomics.com. One of the things they said was that I was still kinda trying to do a gag-a-day feature, but that’d make it hard to put the whole thing together into a book later.
And the practical upshot is that sometimes, the cartoons advance the story without having a punchline.
I try to minimize that, of course, but here we are again.
For those of you who like that little storytelling, human spark… you’re welcome. For those of you who wanted to see Paste electrocute himself with an RV’s hydrogen cell and poo his pants… I’ll try to work that in later sometime. Or not. It sounds nasty.
Look, it’s Mr. Ziggy Foote, from The Wukilars. He’s so helpful. If he were any more helpful, he might have noticed that Mal was around and let him keep his feet on the ground.
Ever get that sinking feeling? You know, where you missed something?
Not like when you guys point out my grammar and spelling mistakes, I mean when you’ve fallen victim to my favorite aphorism:
“It’s the assumptions you don’t know you’re making that do you the most harm.”
So it’s like when you show up at what was clearly meant to be a Halloween party by the calendar, except that you were assuming that your host didn’t have a birthday a few days before Halloween. You may also have assumed that a costume of an extremely elderly man in a grossly exaggerated adult diaper was going to be such fun that year, but it’s not a good look at a party where the guest of honor is trying desperately to remain young and hip while the age he’s required to admit to belies everything he’s fronting.
Or it’s like when Kara realizes that the rules don’t actually specify anything beyond “Unicycle” and “Bow”.
So… Patreon patrons. Are you pleased at seeing the cartoons a day or so early, or does it kinda spoil seeing them here later? Or does seeing them here a little later feel like it’s spoiling the cartoons when you see them in a few weeks on GoComics.com?
Or maybe I should be asking the Non-Patrons if they’d like to be like you guys and get to see the cartoons a day early.
Or I could ask if Patrons should see the cartoons a week early or if that’d REALLY be weird.
Discuss.
