It is more likely he decided that he needed a team building exercise and delegated some flunkie to do it. Said flunkie instead of going to Hubris decided to shop around looking for a better deal and ended up with SportsMart and Lowell. I guess that flunkie is now polishing his resume while Burgess has released his lawyers against SportsMart.
Lowell being Lowell genuinely believes that Hubris is responsible since he only tried for the raft guide gig after seeing Hubris do it.
I don´t think Vinculum is where Burgess works but is his competition. The changes he achieved on his rafting trip with his family didn’t go unnoticed though.
It´s Lowell wh´s trying to weasel out of responsibility.

I do think this time Lowell dipped himself and there’s no way his employment at Sportsmart is going to stay intact. Going for the lawsuit was the only way to save his job, and there’s no way he’s going to get a settlement against Hubris for anything worth mentioning. Countering back at Sportsmart IF *they* pressured him into doing this stint….is the only way Lowell could come up keeping job plus buckage to live on.
