Look. Family dynamic, fiscal responsibility, AND skating in the same cartoon. I know, right?
Also… in my head, Hubris’ stepdad’s name is pronounced all French Canadian… “Dah-Vee”. But maybe I’m just not happy with the performance of my retirement portfolio, and I’m lookin’ to taunt some brokers.
It would be “Dah-veed” (the french DO pronounce the D ya know 😉 – and My aunt lives in Montréal so I know a bit about it.)
When a mother chooses her new husband over her children, there is something wrong with her. VERY wrong. I know, because just shy of my 10th birthday, my mother allowed my step-dad to put me in foster care. 8 years later, she said she wished she had aborted me, and wished wholeheartedly that I was dead. 12 years after that, she said she was better off without me. I’ve forgiven her, but I don’t love her anymore… who could?!
Eek. That’s messed up. I mean ‘write-a-novel-and-go-on-the-chatshow-circuit’ messed up.
Greg – nah, I don’t like shows like Maurry and Springer.
I’m better off now, than I would have been if she’d kept me.
That sounds like a healthy attitude. Good for you.
For those interested, the missing strip can be seen on gocomics here:

Or, since I don’t know if that will create a working link, it’s the December 27, 2012 post on gocomics.
