I have a LOT of obsolete stuff in my house, in the storage shed, in my studio… I’m a LITTLE concerned that I might be one of the things that’s obsolete. Obviously, my knees are out of date, anyhow.

Me? I’d be fine with their skatepark. I don’t do aerial stuff. I’m pretty comfy down in the bowl, scooting around, keeping my head down…
I honestly didn’t expect this storyline to spiral out the way it has. Back at Charlotte HeroesCon, I was talking with Ronnie Filyaw about where it might go, and at first thought I might try to wrap it up in a week. Maybe two.
As with anything I start to put any thought into, I added new bits, and changed the pace, and foreshadowed new bits and totally forgot about the next storyline I thought I’d be well into by now.
Back then, I didn’t know there was going to be a skatepark in the basement.
I was just messin’ with Lowell.
…
Gosh, I love doing this strip.
Poor Bob. He’s not likely to be able to make the new skatepark work to his advantage. On the other hand, I don’t think a concussion would be that evident in his behavior.
I have the next few weeks plotted out in my head. You guys aren’t going to keep speculating on upcoming events and coming up with entertaining stuff that makes me want to change the course of the story are you?
Boom. There you go. Bet ya didn’t see that coming.
I’m guessing, because I’m writing this four days in advance. Some of you may have guessed ‘skatepark’.
Others may have guessed stuff I wish I had thought of, in which case… Next time, I need you to submit your ideas written in script form two weeks prior to the date the comic is intended to run. I can’t read minds, people.
Well, push has finally come to shove. Anyone ready to finally figure out what’s in the basement?
Let’s hear all your best speculation.
I warn you, though. I’ve already drawn the next couple of strips, and I’m not changing them, even if you have really, really funny ideas. The plot’s in place already.
I guess what I’m saying is, I’m really happy if you want to guess. Very gratified if you will, to be sure.
But try not to come up with something better than what’s already on paper, willya?
I thought I might have something to say here about a number of things… Writing long story arcs, panels with closeups, the fact that Randy the River Guide is a real person, backgrounds that are photos vs backgrounds that are drawn vs backgrounds that are random colors…
But really, I wanted to ask- Has anyone heard anything out of Allan VS? I went mostly off the grid for a couple of weeks (and it occurs to me now that I have a couple of emails asking me why I haven’t replied to something on Facebook. As I haven’t answered the emails yet, much less the Facebook posts, heaven knows I’m behind the times) and I came back to discover that he hasn’t been commenting… and with my abysmal memory, I can’t recall when he posted last. And with my even more abysmal laziness, I haven’t looked it up either. So you guys- anyone know what’s up with Brother Allan?
Despite the lack of online activity and all the character defects, I would like to point out that I got all four comic strips out this week. Just for you guys. And Allan, wherever he is.
I apologize to anyone who would appreciate me providing Hubris in multiple languages.
The apology is firstly for the fact that Paste’s dialogue must be very difficult to make heads or tails of if English is not your first language, and secondly that I didn’t study enough of any other language to be able to make Paste speak poorly in them, too.
