Was Hubris ever made aware, so long ago, that Wilma Wiggins-Ross conjured a little rain when it was needed at the Outdoorfest? She drew a turtle and said a word of Cherokee and Bam! Were Marco and Raleigh aware?
Now, with Marco and Raleigh apparently convinced that there’s something Hubris can do to chance the circumstances of the rain, they’re apparently believers in weather witchery.
Animals are so superstitious.
Silly.
At least Steven’s foot isn’t being left behind.
There’s always a reason not to go home and let the good times come to a close, right?
Steven was a huge Scooby Doo and Josie And The Pussycats fan!
Do any of you guys remember that first season of Scooby Doo when the group weren’t actually a band, but the producers seemed to think that music should be a part of each episode, preferably in the chase scene? And then all the similarly formatted shows that followed along featured bands as the main characters.
And y’know, bands… dancing… eight frames a second animation… Ugly dancing.
The Archies weren’t the kind of band to inspire wild gyrations and all, but wow… Fred and Daphne had some lame moves. Or should I say “Move”, ’cause they only got one each.
And if you think I shouldn’t be lumping ‘Scooby Doo’, ‘Josie and the Pussycats’, ‘The Archies’, and, I dunno, ‘Speed Buggy’ all into the same group, well then, you don’t REALLY remember Saturday Morning Cartoons. Seriously, my kids know the term ‘Saturday Morning Cartoons’, but they have no personal memory of waiting a whole dang week to see any kind of animation outside of a Sugar Frosted Flakes commercial.

I dunno how it’s happened again, but here we are at New Years eve once more! I’m madly prepping calendars to send to the Patreon supporters of the proper tiers, and so I apologize for the lack of new content this week. More soon!
Watched once as some paddlers I was camping with were ducking and dodging some bats that cruised in at dusk to remove the insect population. My best buddy said they were wasting their time ducking out of the way, as bats were great at avoiding things they didn’t care to smack into. He stood in a bottleneck made by the close treegrowth and let the bats fly past and around his head at a furious rate. One of the other, younger paddlers said that he had to try that, too. It was very cool until the guy sitting next to me, (and NOT ME, you understand) threw a black ball cap and hit the guy in the head.
Knowing that it couldn’t be a bat that just smacked into the back of your head doesn’t help. When something smacks into the back of your head while bats whirl around you, you dance.
