Everyone, especially those who enjoy Jeff’s articles about being outdoors, tell Jeff “Happy Birthday” today. He used to be my little brother, then he was my younger brother. Now he’s my older brother, as I refuse to get any older than I was a couple of years ago. It was becoming far too inconvenient and degrading.
Happy Birthday, Jeff!
Happy Nudder’un, Jeff
I just LOVE how Hubris did a bodyfloat then reinserted himself. Look at how his students handled themselves… something to be PROUD of. hehehe
If I tell Jeff Happy Birthday, does that mean *HE’S* buying the beer?
(liked too where Kara was filming all that…)
If he did, it’d be all shook up by the time the mailman brought it to us.
Aaah, but it’d also be WARM by then so we’d have to stick it in the beer fridge to cool off. When it was properly artic, it would also be past PFtzzz also.
Hippo Birdies, Jeff!
H–u–b–r–i–s!!! You will be A-V-E-N-G-E-D!
I love the bonus of Doc getting it all on vid..
Kara’s “meh, he’ll be ok.”
Hubris’ is all “Oh heck yeah … ” and just plops his big butt back into the boat. LoL
Happy birthday Jeff!
Happy birthday, Jeff!
Oh, the happy memories! I think a lot of us have done this to a boat of clients once we decided they were capable of handling a minor rapid, just for the thrill value (theirs and ours). As long as you keep your head it is pretty easy to float through a rapid, especially while holding a paddle cross-body like Hubris does in this strip.
Man, I miss rafting! So Cal has maybe a two week period of moderate dam-fed runs on a good year, and we’ve been pretty dry for quite a while now. It’s the main thing I miss about the Pacific Northwest (well, that & real snow).
And happy cumulative 3 birthdays to Jeff. A little late, but so it goes.
