Well, I had thought that this cartoon would be one of your extras that would run on Saturday, but I had three caricature gigs this weekend, so things got backed up. We’ll have to see if I can manage a couple more on Thursday and Saturday this week. Cross your fingers or toes or something. But don’t ask me to do another caricature job for a week or so.
ADDITIONAL INFO: got back into the studio only to discover that the cartoon didn’t go up today! Nuts! For the first time I got a red “Missed Schedule” notification. I don’t know why it missed updating. I didn’t click something somewhere yesterday when I loaded the cartoon. Sorry ’bout that!!
When you insist on crazy business, your business is crazy.
Well, I had hoped to post this about twelve hours ago, but you know how that goes. Or, if you didn’t know- now you do.
Visiting Scott Stantis is great. He’s one of the sharpest people I know, and would make a much better business of Hubris than I have so far. But with his shining example, maybe I can get myself into a better gear. Or maybe I’ll just make an effort to hang out with him more. It’s a worthwhile thing to do. If YOU know any editorial cartoonists, go ask ’em how their day is and listen to the answers.
So, changing the story arcs. Gotta swing the increasingly bulky craft around, aim it in a new direction, and get under way. Hard to do without getting a little maudlin. Hopefully, today’s cartoon is a quick enough turnaround, as we sail into the next chapter.
Anybody want to make a request? Now would be the time. I’ve got a framework to hang things on, and as soon as I start filling in details, you psychics will start figuring out where I’m going. You might as well start telling me what I’m going to write and save me a lot of extra work.
I’ll give you a clue- I’m finally getting around to a previous request for a particular kind of bike race. Fire up the crystal balls.
