Sympathetic Spew is an issue. Around theme parks, it’s a big issue. Around county fairs, it’s still some sort of issue, but not so much.
At an OutdoorFest, I’m not sure how it’d be classified. Maybe it depends on how well stomach contents spread throughout a body of baby oil. If the blending is rapid and far-reaching, I imagine that the retching would also be rapid and far… retching.
Or something.
I can’t imagine that hiding a blindfolded beer pong game is easy… I mean, ask any precocious kid in their late teens whether Mom and Dad got back from their weekend trip and never suspected anything had gone awry, or believed that the smell of stale spilled beer came from the neighbors house sewer leak that happened just about the time they left town and the entire neighborhood smelled like this a couple of days ago. Also, those aren’t my ping pong balls. Eddie brought those over and left them.

He also suggested that Silent Cowbells would improve the competition, but my wife is a Mississippi State Alumnus, so silent cowbells aren’t a thing around here.
And we finally get to see nematodes hanging off of our poor ol’ competitors. And the Pig.
As I get older, I miss things, and I discover new things.
I can’t really say whether the things I miss or the things I discover have at all been good for me.
They do keep me amused, though, I’ll tell ya that.
I’ve reached the age when business associates often aren’t old enough to remember the great stuff I do. TV shows, Comic Books, Toys.
The new things I discover are the same crap you’ve overheard your elders speak about your whole life. Your body betrays you. Age isn’t a gradual process, but a series of abrupt horrors.
All that stuff, combined with being of an age to pay attention to the news and, like every generation before mine, decide that society has honestly gone into the toilet in my lifetime, leads me toward what should be depression.
Then I remember that I’m a cartoonist. And I draw a funny picture or two. Like today’s cartoon. Then I feel much, much better.
So I might as well share, right?

Some of you might recall that I did some unicycle comment cartoons here on the site a while back. I think there were a series of three, maybe four of them. They were an image of Hubris riding a unicycle with an offscreen voice saying something that unicyclists typically hear, such as “What happened to the rest of your bike?” and “Are you a clown?”
The problem, you see, is that when people see something worthy of comment, they tend to comment. If they haven’t heard what the previous thirty people have commented, they tend to say the first thing that pops into their heads, which is the same darn thing most of the previous thirty people said. You see the problem. After a while, you entertain yourself by having thirty different answers to the one thing everyone accidentally repeats at you.
“The bike shop had a half-off sale.” “I stripped all the useless stuff off the bike and this is what’s left.” “My grandma is riding it about a half-mile back.” “Oh, I can control one wheel, but have you seen those guys who ride two wheels at once? They’re amazing.” and so on.
