All through this story arc, I’ve had chances to think about Team Building exercises. I figure the biggest hurdle is getting the team members to admit that they want to build a team. I sorta figure that, deep down, maybe most people think they’d be better without a team so much as with devoted underlings.

If I was behind a desk a lot that’d be a hard choice, food or first aid….
Food, then first aid.
Does Paste’s trainee make another appearance?
First aid first. Send a minion to get the food for you while you’re waiting for the pain killers to kick in. Then make a list of everyone you don’t like and focus on how you’re going to make them miss dinner.
First things first… Which is the stick and which are the carrots?
~that was mostly rhetorical. ;1 ~
Secondly, I think TSOJ’s idea is pretty solid as plans go for these sorts of folks.
Now to the team building bit…
I was going to get all intelligent and put a long drawn out thought… Whatever… But decided to go with quicker-n-wittier instead.
And that would be for this group…
“There may not be an ‘I’ in team, but you Can get a ‘Me’ out of it.”
~Eh, still better than what I Was gonna put. Ya win some, ya lose some. [shrugs]~
There is too an “I” in Team.
Write it T E A M in blocky letters.
Look at the A. There will be an “.i.’ (only way I could get it to print a lowercase I, you need an I with a dot)
There is an I in TEAM
It’s only lunch.. There’s plenty of mayhem left!
Latter part of TSOJs plan works for me
There is a broad line between “devoted minion” and “team member”, but it is usually just the attitude of the leader. “Devoted leader” makes the difference.
Buffet then Medical.
ALWAYS food than health.
Unless … you’ve got a hole in your throat, stomach, intestines, or bowels. Then you’ll wanna reverse it. LoL
I thought it should have been a combo line…. you go a little ways and can get a sandwich and drink, then step off to the side to get patched up, then continue on to the last part of the buffet (and pray they actually got enough buffet to go around. Sometimes what a catered portion versus what a person TAKES as a portion are wildly different – I’ve been to and heard of where many a wedding buffet ran out before they were a third through.)
Those weddings need to call on the ladies of their local churches.
I don’t think I’ve been to any church buffet where there wasn’t enough food. LoL
Trust me, I’ve been to plenty of them where the first ones on the self help buffet piled it and 1/2 to 2/3 are looking at empty pans and the catererer isn’t bringing out more.
A club I belonged to had a gal cater ‘top your own baked spud’ meal. She went by the usual, quote it, got paid. Ran out of toppings halfways through (she lived a few houses away from the hall) and busted through making another batch, so double so far. I showed up a tad late, last, there was one baked potato left and the toppings were scraped to the bottom. I wasn’t sure if she was going to scream, cry or break down, and I said I’m a simple potato lover I think I can find plenty (sour cream, butter, and a few bacon crumblets and a few whiskers of cheese). I more or less finished up what was left.
I learned unless you’re ordering plated sit down served meal, make the caterer show you what they mean by a portion (fill a plate with the scoops of (coleslaw or whatever as the sub) on a plate to show how much food they are quoting as a serving per head). Look at that. Figure people are going to think ‘free food’ and order 2-3x that. Or you will have to have someone dishing out the food to each plate in line.
hard choice depends on if their stomachs are saying food louder then their need to see kara for treatment. though they could always do a little of colum a and b.
Put it this way. If you’re running around and exercising relatively hard, you’re burning short-term calories, which generally run out after 2 hours. After that your body switches to burning stored fat, and that’s a lot harder to get energy from. If you’ve ever ridden a bicycle, or gone running, you know what “bonking” feels likes, and that’s when you’ve used up all the energy in your body and you’re about to wipe out. That usually happens 3-4 hours in. So, if any of the bankers have been running a lot, and it’s been more than 3 hours since they last ate, yeah, food is going to be more important than medical care.
