You remember back in the original Muppet movie? When Orson Welles signs the Muppets to the standard Fame and Fortune contract?
I worry about how many people really think those kinds of contracts are out there waiting to be signed.

I had a film crew at an event I was in charge of one year and I helped with making sure all the releases were signed. (eyes still rolling). That is a good way to get name and contact info out of someone though, an official looking ‘release’ form… so you can be on TV!!!! Yeah….
Who says she won’t still be on TV? Maybe she should get her dogs to start practicing their new dance bit – The Per Pwalk.
WAIT A MINUTE … when did Durnell get so damn smart, and the cops so damn stu … oh wait. I was thinking of Alternate-Universe Hubris.
Italian? Well Latin did originate there, but I don’t think pig Latin did.
Yep, they’re able to get more information out of her than police questioning ever could.
Pssh… What do you mean those kinds of contracts aren’t out there…
Have you Seen “reality” tv? “Reality Star Marriage Boot Camp”, “Jersey Shore”, “Christley Knows Best”, “Big Brother”, “The Bachelor” and the list goes on… Horrifyingly so.
Gone are the days of talent and Working for your fifteen minutes of fame. If one can pass as a Jerry Springer guest or even a Reject, then one has a shot at being a star the masses will lap up like tots slurping antifreeze.
Yeah it Is scary but apparently it’s what people want. [shrugs] Maybe they need to see that there are people out there with less brains and a worse handle on life than themselves to feel better. I don’t know.
I just know one shouldn’t be so quick to assume that stupidity isn’t like sex and won’t sell just as quickly.
If I understand right, those deals don’t get anywhere close to ‘fame and fortune’… I mean, you can name a few ‘reality’ TV personalities, but the majority are utterly forgotten. Those that are remembered typically fall into the ‘where are they now’ category. As for Jerry Springer- now that it’s come to light that there were some people returning to the show over and over under different guises with different, made-to-order “issues”, we see there isn’t any fame and fortune there- it’s just an acting job. Workaday stuff like being on commercials as a hand model.
Don’t flount hand models. I have a friend, he has small hands and boy they are just perfect… and he gives them babying like you wouldn’t believe. (a couple of layers of gloves taped onto his wrists to sleep with some cream smeared on his hands). Always perfectly manicured… his small hands make the product look bigger (hold up the cracker in front of the box might be an hour at an outside to shoot that commercial and he gets over $600 for it).
I thought it was Alice Cooper who was signing up the Muppets.
