TSOJ – I don’t think many doctor’s take The Oath anymore. At least, not the psychologist bitch I’m seeing.
I told her I didn’t want a 10am appointment. Last week, she booked me in at 10am. I said no. She said yes. Then when I couldn’t make it, she charged me $255 for the two hours, and worked on other peoples files.
I’m going to talk to the College of Psychologists today, as I do believe double billing isn’t allowed in Ontario.
$255? And you live in Canada? Ironic. I don’t want to see the shrink assigned to me as the appointments go like:
Prosaic still working? Yes.
Getting enough sleep? Yes.
Any dizziness? No.
Feel like hurting yourself? No.
Feel like hurting anyone else? No.
When does your unemployment run out. Last December.
Find a new job yet? No.
You sure you don’t feel like hurting anyone. Yes. I mean no. I mean I’m not going to hurt anyone.
Okay, so see you next month? If I have to.
1 pm okay? Yes.
I’m sure the county or state is paying up the wazoo for this nonsense.
Years back on the insurance plan, one particular clinic was the one you went to or else you paid. They were horrendous on scheduling and several people while I was waiting in lobby at various times told them where to stick it and rotate because of that issue.
If you missed or were late they charged you for the appointment (for missing) and double if you were late. If you were there on time and had to wait 45 min that wasn’t their fault…
Capper was once they scheduled (spouse and I) for 31 April. And the receptionist wrote the card in ink. I put it on fridge, and every morning looked at it. Was it the 31st? Nope. Okay, Next day… and it rolled to 30 April, no that wasn’t the 31st… and next morning, it was 1 May and looked at it. I called them and they were all over me about why weren’t we there yesterday and it was going to be charged. WAITAMINIT, the card I was given said April Thirty First. YOU scheduled me for it, I have the card written in ink.
Silence. I took it in to show them. They issued it; I didn’t miss it because they scheduled me for a day that did not exist. They did NOT charge for it either.
Wasn’t long after that that I forced a change to a fully licensed psychiatrist and finally got some progress. Mostly I needed some stress reduction and several months of pills to get me through it. Not the inane blabber sessions by some ‘certified’ therapist.
Hm. Perhaps immediately after you got that 10 am appointment ‘now I would like to cancel my appointment at ten.
!) Go to the next scheduler and cancel that.
2) If not, ask to speak with their supervisor…
3) If not, call the doctor then (borrow their phone of course) and cancel the appointment.
4) As for her full legal name as you are filing a complaint AND exploring other options or an appointment not at 10 am.
5) If not ask me for more evil things to do.
You too can master Bureaucracy-fu! Tis’ better to give than receive…
Saw said psycho logist yesterday, at 4pm for “Follow Up”.
After an impassioned 5 minute diatribe by me, explaining how she “probably makes between 80k and 120k a year, and me, a poor student makes only around 10k a year … how can you steal from someone so poor… ” etc. She agreed to return $295 to me.
Can doctors accept hits on patients they don’t like, or is that against their Hypocritical Oath?
