Sure. That’s Tennessee governor Haslam, who’s about to get into the newest Legislative session. He’s a republican, but, let’s face it, he’s supposed to be looking after Tennessee, not the republican party, and so his party’s giving him some grief on upcoming legislation. Boom, boring politics-as-usual made more entertaining by using cartoon metaphor.
Really? Anti-Tea Party? I bet he doesn’t consider himself anti-tea party. Speaking of which, there was a neat exchange of comments under The Buckets on gocomics the other day when one reader said the Grandfather must be a Tea Partyer since he was against NASA, and another commenter claimed to be a Tea Partyer who was distinctly FOR NASA. Made me wonder- do any of us really know what our imagined adversaries really believe? How many of us actually ask them?
Love the artwork!
Although, I don’t know the politician in question.
I agree. Great cover, but could you give a little background?

Ok, thanks. I did try searching on “Tennessee anti-tea party” yesterday, and Haslam’s photo came up. I just didn’t recognize him without his glasses.

Most people seem to be too busy telling me what I should be thinking to get around to asking me your question.
Thanks for the info! On a separate note, enjoying the strip as always!
Neat.
We had the Tea Party come through here strong for a while and now I doubt I could find one if I try…
I do like the teabag on the tail though. Like the annoying hemorrhoid on your tail….
When I saw this, I thought “something else”. *snirk!*
