I think Dusty is being sarcastic, or maybe disingenuous. It’s her hardly-disinterested view that people should watch her show, but I don’t think she has any statistical studies to back it up.
She might even be up to something.
Like starting a fight for the sake of a fight.
Dusty’s idea of a “backstage feud” is to use a “duster” on Durnell. AKA: A blackjack.
Maybe a dust BUSTER, and destroy his suit on the first day?
This is reminiscent of of the Jack Benny – Fred Allen “feud” on the radio. That “feud” boosted the ratings of both programs.
Now THAT’S phunny!
The longer this strip goes on, the larger my list of people to kick repeatedly if I ever become a toon!
Just have Durnell call his cousin Tony, then Dusty will really wish she backed off, especially if they still can’t find their lawyers after all these years.
Outdoor Feud….now on cable. Followed later by Find Hubris.
The kick, on camera, just means that Durnell can sue and win on Dusty for Assault. He can certainly press the charges. Wrong move, Dusty.
Literally kicked to the curb.
