Nice work with the color, don’t you think? Troy always uses simple isolated color, and this time, the neons of the road crew guy stands out nice and clean. Very effective.

Cartoonists are working, in general, with the same material: the world, and all the juxtapositions available therein.
Having said that, I’ve done a sea salt gag before. Most cartoonists can say the same. What you wind up with, and how it differs from other cartoonists’ take on the same general subject is what separates us all.
Mine was a Buckets cartoon. The family was dining, and the youngest child says, “This is really good.” and “What’s the difference between sea salt and regular salt?” Before the parents can answer, the older brother says, “Fish Poop.” and hilarity ensues.
Now… feel free to google “sea salt” + “cartoon” and see how everyone else did it. I think you’ll find that Troy did a fine job with his sea salt.
If a dog has something derogatory to think about your breath…
You might have an idea for a mouthwash commercial.
We used to tell stories about old people in big cars-
“All ya could see over the dashboard was white knuckles and blue hair!” and everyone laughs.
That was before blue hair meant young ladies with Katy Perry style.
Ya tell them young people that, they don’t believe you…
So today’s cartoon is Troy, drawing as John, who is the main character of Troy’s ‘Old Man & His Dog’.
So, it’s Meta. Really Meta. And Meta is extra cool!
It’s not just the split-instant between the end of the movie and everyone reaching to text ‘Movie’s Over’ to whomever the hell they’re texting.
I’ve noticed they also text and tweet right up until the very second the previews start. I admit, everyone’s generally pretty good about shutting down during the previews, so I don’t have much to complain about… but where’s the fun if you can’t complain?
It’s amazing, the amount of light that spills out of a smartphone. And amazing how irritating it is when the house lights dim at the theatre. Who’d have thought a li’l thing like a phone could, from a row or two away, interfere heavily with MY DANGED ABILITY TO FOCUS ON A GIANT SCREEN THAT FILLS A LARGE WALL. But it does.
