I looked at some artisanal soap at an artist market here around last Christmas.
Just couldn’t get myself to buy any, even though it looked good enough to eat.

Some of it is food grade and won’t kill you outright but. It always lies about it smells much Much MUCH better than it tastes. I do make soap but it’s because the manufacturers went from nice meaty handfuls of soap bars to this little artsy bent ones that are a Pain in the Patoot to deal with and melt away quickly then break up into a handful of splinters very fast. So you’re dissatisfied and need to buy bars more often. The artsy ones are neat, sometimes formulated to help fight allergies or certain skin conditions, or look great in your guest bathroom, but. Well I doubt that soap sampling will ever go down again around there….
Sad-to-say, but many “artisanal” soaps are better-suited for use as a long-lasting source of potpourri-scent for your laundry dresser drawers.
evil wukilar timing for throwback thursday!
