Do you suppose that the supposedly minor functionary at the Dam might have more on the ball than the “boss”?
And do you also suppose that the functionary doesn’t really know that much either?
This is going to go really well, isn’t it?

T’would be a dam shame, if he lost his dam job.
Man, I’ve been in those offices. Tiny out-of-the-way thing that doesn’t seem important when they were writing up the personnel budget, good place to settle in for decades at a stretch, then the boss retires and the guy promoted to cover didn’t know half of what he did, but things keep ticking along so it must not have been important, then after another few decades Janet retires to go spend time with her grandkids at the same time that new boss retires, and Janet was the one who typed up all the info, but her shorthand is only half readable and she doesn’t want to be bothered, so new-new boss hires a replacement and tells them to figure it out, and teaches them what they remember old-old boss teaching them decades ago, and then the new person quits because the job is boring and incomprehensible, and the wages are no longer as competitive as they were a couple decades ago when the budget was set so the job is less cushy, so they get fewer engineers and more paper-pushers applying, but that’s good, right? Somebody can read through all these papers and figure out what they’re supposed to be doing. But things keep ticking along fine so there’s not really any reason to rush. This is an important piece of infrastructure, in theory, so someone would TELL them if there was something important they were supposed to be doing with it, right?
Shades of the Button Down Mind in this strip.
I can see Danny DeVito playing the role of “Chief” beautifully.
… Chief Bigfoot?

I’m currently on Ontario Disability. On December 1, I am moving.
ODSP (which is a financial support program) has given me $350 for $900 move. Some people have already donated $320 … but if I can’t get more donations before Nov. 30, I’m going to have no food for December.
This is the link to the GoFundMe.

Even $5 helps, but you’re not obligated, and Greg can delete this, if he wishes.
I probably should have posted earlier.
