Would any of you dyed-in-the-wool patrons of the strip like to explain to any new readers about where the nickname ‘Karabug’ comes from?
I used to assume no one would necessarily remember, but you guys know more about this strip than I do…

Karabug was one her dad gave her.. and that’s her dad and the anesthesiologist guy. I assume Dad talked to something that looked like a much better catch for his little girl than Hubris for long enough to pass some embarrassing dirt about Kara to him…
Karabou would also be a good nickname.

I had forgotten that myself until I went back to refresh my memory about the nickname. Now I’m kind of wondering… Coincidence or did Mister Greg Remember what he said there and is about to hit us over the head with Kara going for this derp instead of Hubris…?? [is a weensy bit worried]

I’ve been remembering that this whole time, since the dude first said his name. I just hope he keeps making these mistakes that show the “inner jerk”!! (Maybe then Hubris will be WR9NG, for once!)
I’m absolutely not worried. Too obvious. Also, as you pointed out, the guy makes mistakes upon mistakes, and not in a way that makes Kara laugh.
