Name in these things are weird, aren’t they?
Ezekiel isn’t a popular name these days, but try to tell a story about the mythic past and see if there isn’t a Zeke in there somewhere.

Zeke was a common enough one in settler days (say a century and a half ago) and into the present to at least WWII, so. Anyways. Someone has to remain alive to be able to tell the tale of the Wukilar… hm hm hm….
And there were people still without running water to this day in certain areas. So this could be not that long ago (same with REC, 1960’s some farms still didn’t have electricity, I knew a family that finally got onto the grid in 1965, and still were hauling water). So.. when is set? Curiouser and curiouser…
When I was a youngin, Mom’s folks lived on a farm that had electricity, but by running water, you ran out to the barn lot and pumped it. They also had outdoor plumbing and used a wash basin for washing faces and such.
This family had a big water tank on wheels you towed like a trailer, and a neighbor had a well with a nice pump and hose on it and a meter. They would tow it there about once a week and fill it then pull it behind the house. To have water for anything you took a pail around the corner and got it from the tank. [to be honest the guy was too cheap, and that’s why he was the last one to get onto REC, and refused to pay the cost to have a well dug on the farm.]
