Troy’s back for another Thursday!
Take a moment to do a little constructive advice and counsel. Troy’s deciding where to go next with his comic strip.

That comment would be worth doggie jail. REALLY good…
Thank you. I, like Walter, thought it was funny.
I love the minimalist coloring. Only advice I can give is make the dog more like a dog. From the strips I’ve read, it goes from a gag a day to light storytelling. No real reason why the old man can hear the dog think is given or inferred. A few strips have him having the dog since childhood, which is cool.. but impossible. So where is the focus of the strip? Cartoonist and his longtime pet. They just exist. If he is looking for more to do with the characters, I would go more with the relationship the two have. Is the dog special? Is the man special? Have they been together so long that they know what the other thinks?
Just my amateur opinion..
Hello, Crazeyal. Thank you for the comments. Have you read the strip somewhere else? I don’t know that I’ve posted one here with John as a kid and Walter as a puppy. I’m old, can’t remember now. I like the minimalist coloring too but mostly I’m not real adept at coloring yet and I’m lazy. No, I’ve never offered a reason that John can hear Walter’s thoughts. Do you think I should have one? I just wanted it that way, sort of like Calvin and Hobbes. Also, I wanted it so the reader doesn’t know if John and Walter have been together since childhood, which is impossible if you’re not a cartoon character, or if it’s some fantasy in John’s old age. I greatly appreciate the comments. Thank you.

Can’t forget Jon and Garfield.
Stewie and most everyone else.
Danae and Lucy.
Sarge and Otto.
Mother Goose & Grimm.
and PC and Pixel.
Not that I read many comics or anything…only ~40 a day.
Garfield with dirty jokes?
