Years ago, I found a very adult Dr. Zuess book. It was illustrated just like the kid’s books but very adult. I so wsh I had bought it. I’ve never seen it since.
Dr.Suess also wrote cartoon-ads for “FLIT” — a DDT-based insecticide that predated the invention of aerosol cans, so you sprayed by working a pump-action ‘gun’. Even into the 1960’s, long after DDT was banned, the phrase, “Quick, Henry, the FLIT!” was still getting occasional use as a humor-meme:
