It’s not just the split-instant between the end of the movie and everyone reaching to text ‘Movie’s Over’ to whomever the hell they’re texting.
I’ve noticed they also text and tweet right up until the very second the previews start. I admit, everyone’s generally pretty good about shutting down during the previews, so I don’t have much to complain about… but where’s the fun if you can’t complain?
It’s amazing, the amount of light that spills out of a smartphone. And amazing how irritating it is when the house lights dim at the theatre. Who’d have thought a li’l thing like a phone could, from a row or two away, interfere heavily with MY DANGED ABILITY TO FOCUS ON A GIANT SCREEN THAT FILLS A LARGE WALL. But it does.
their thumbs were restless…
or how disturbing it is to have an insomniac bedmate using tech to get sleepy
honestly? i seldom go to the movies any more anyway… people peopling in general annoy me.
but on the flip side, i suppose if you have a babysitter or worried folks, texting that the movie’s done and you’re on your way is a valid excuse for having a cell phone on in the theater.
otherwise, shut the darned thing off.
but again, i don’t go to theaters any more. maybe if something really really good, as in Worth the $$$ to sit with a bunch of strangers snorfling through wrappers and chewing like cows on cud… even then, prolly not.
i prefer my movie entertainment in house.
that way i can have General Tso’s chicken and whatever drink i want with out the inflated prices and annoying rules about what i can eat while enjoying whatever. or ya know, the people peopling.
And also, Get Off My Lawn!
