Oh many moons ago I had mine file a quit slip. The spouse was at school, work kept putting me on hold (I had a shift that night) and I called a cab to get to the hospital and finally the manager of my apartment building gave me a ride. The ER was blocked by a semi trying to deliver to the dock so I said drop me off and I followed signs, barely standing or moving, until I got to ER. They had my file, I wasn’t filling out 15 pages. I finally got ahold of a relative while waiting outside the operating room and they finally found my hubby. All in all not fun, lots left out, and…. leaving it there.

You have my condolences Greg. The surgery is a piece of cake dude, you’ll be out in no time, and back to drawing up some more cartoons. I can say 9999 out of 10000 get the greenest they will ever be in their lives. Flu will never have the same meaning again. Envy you the morphine pain pump, the Demerol… heh. Get Better, we’ll wait!

Mom had it (almost died), brother had it, we understand. It’s hell to go through and we feel for you. But by next week you’ll feel like a new man, and you’ll never have to worry about it again.
Get some rest, take it easy, and we’ll wait for the new cartoons ’cause they’re definitely worth the wait.

is it coincidence that there’s a banner ad at the top of my page for a 3M Littmann Classic III stethoscope from Amazon.com?

Odd. There was an ad for Health Insurance when I last looked.

The ads are targeted to what you have searched recently.

They also key in on the ‘tags’ that are in the cartoon and the words in blog posts. When my brother skied down a mountain while wearing a coconut bra and grass skirt, then wrote a funny product review here for coconut bras, there were suddenly a lot of ladies undergarment ads popping up for folks.

Don’t kill yourself doing a cartoon. We’ll just have to get over our impatience while you heal up.

Just think, another scar… (if they go in the side) or scars… (laparoscopy you’ll have a few scars). Just adds to the collection. Now coming up with a good story… y’all get better Greg. Yes we will wait.

Hope you get better fast, Greg!
And ask the hospital if they’ll give you the appendix so you can nail it up next to the door as a warning to all the other (remaining) organs.

I lost mine waaay back in 7th grade, four days before school ended. my doctor was old so have a pretty fair sized scar but was out riding my bike the day I got home ( which upset my grandmother to no end but hey, I had my knee scoped, got the stitches out one week later and promptly rode and jumped 3 horses at our Iowa Games)

Been there, felt a little ill in the morning and was really sick by evening; couldn’t even hold a sip of water down. I drove myself to the ER and barely remember answering questions, signing papers and waking up about 3AM with the surgeon telling me my appendix had burst and was “necrotic and gangrenous”. I spent a week there with an IV in my arm and a tube in my belly, and another week with friends. Nice quiet vacation, though.
Glad they caught it early and that you’re recovering. We all hope you’ll be back on bikes, boards and floating conveyances before long. Oh yeah, and more cartoons when you feel up to it.
