Just for the record. I have nothing against kids. Or having kids.
But, they ARE kids y’know. Sometimes they are difficult to be in the room with.
I still remember there was an old episode of WKRP in Cincinnati, where the weird guy is being interviewed on the radio- he says that when you give a kid an IQ test for an adult, they score ‘Crazy’. (I’m paraphrasing.) What a great observation.
Either that or the kid blows the curve. Heh.
I’m betting Hubris’ stash involves sports drinks and power bars laced with chocolate.
Paste is definitely THE poster boy.
Fer the “crazy”, ya know.
welcome to hubris’ life
the naked troll being an, unconditional, addition that you can’t return.
when we see Paste no wonder Hubris isn’t really thinking about kids…
Uhp. The question is now out there. It does not matter that Hubris or Kara is in a hurry, but the UNIVERSE IS NOW IN A HURRY.
Greg: Nikki needs some of that blue stuff in her hair
Oops. Again.
Uh, Greg? Didn’t you and Paula have a couple kids?
Do they know how you feel about ’em? 😛
Howdy everyone one else.
Yes. And Yes.
Are you somehow thinking that kids are never told that they’re difficult to be in the room with? Or that they don’t think that parents are sometimes difficult to be in the room with? Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah. They know. Oh, they know.
Ok. Just checking.
Do your kids tell you they think you’re a royal PITA? 😀
Of course.
At least you let them grow up. 🙂 My dad said he had his moments dealing with me… heh.
People should be ‘grown up’ before they have kids. Leaves Hubie out of the group, but the gene pool less interesting.
“The Master is not yet married, nor do I think he ever will be….”
and thus hubris rests his case on kids after all he has enough on his hands taking care of paste .plus paste would wind up corrupting any little bundle hubris and kara would have.
… She’s met Paste. And she Still asked about Hubris having kids… With Paste Right There as a living example of what genetics Hubris has swimming around his blood stream…?
Huh. I really thought she was smarter than that. My mistake.
Besides… Why do people seem to always assume that if a couple is happy together that they have to be married and/or have kids. Never understood that. From what I’ve seen, being a happy couple usually Ends when vows are taken and/or kids come into the picture.
Are Hubris and Paste actually related? Or are they just step-siblings with no blood relatiinship at all?
Because I’ve thoughtlessly used the terms ‘Step-brother’ and ‘half-brother’ and ‘brother’ over the course of the strip, it’s a little foggy. The thing I have in my head is this: Hubris’ mom married young to Hubris’ father (Karl Draussen) and after his death, she found a very nice investment banker to marry. Then she and her new husband (who hasn’t put in an appearance yet) had Carlaisle (who insists on being called Paste). Their mom is very caught up in her husband’s career, and Paste is very irritating. Paste’s dad figured that if Paste wants to ride skateboards and bikes and things, he might as well live with his wife’s first son, who has a business dealing with those things. Paste’s dad forks over a lot of money for Hubris to look after Paste. If you wish to judge anyone involved harshly, feel free.
Except Hubris’ mother has referred to Paste as a step kid. The investment banker had him before he snagged Hubris’ mom as a trophy wife. You sorted that some time back 🙂 So Paste is a bro by marriage not genetics… heh.
Of course they all live in your head until they come out your pen onto the page, so it’s however you think it is. Always.
Ah, Hubris is so quiet about the fact he’s already asked Kara to marry him……
Yep in a very early strip, when he first meets her in her urgentcare room, and finds out she climbs and bikes and hikes… when she asks him about are there places around to do all that. She hrms about an accident prone husband…
