Yep. I actually thought it was the Strep coming back. The nice Nurse Practitioner said “No. It’s ‘just’ and allergy.” and wrote me a prescription.
Turns out that you should not combine the prescription med and the cough medicine she told me to use at night. The two together make a powerful sleep agent that leaves you dumbheaded and hung over the next morning. Or maybe I just needed more than seven hours of sleep. Too bad, Sleep! You won’t get me for more than about six hours a night for the next three weeks. So there.
The one I remember from about 1970…. they had just come out with Excedrin PM… my dad had a bad bad cold, he took two of those and a shot of the green Nyquil… 20 min later he was out like a light. I heard about it again from a veteran of Iraqi Storm, said in the barracks in the R&R area, that combo was about the only way to get any sleep as it was 24/7 pandemonium in there. Some things just pounce… had my share of meds hangover, you have my sympathies, Greg. Just get healed up again, y’hear?
I’m really starting to feel sorry for ol’ chunkybutt. I remember my dad telling me years ago while talking about someone he knew, “If you have to tell people how good you are, you’re probably not that good.”
Took me several read-throughs to figure this dialog out. I’m getting the feeling that Wiggins-Ross is going to need a Plan C.
No folks.. THAT was not “the plan..”
TSOJ, sorry the dialogue was confusing. It wasn’t meant that way, I promise. I’m all hopped up on allergy medicine. Yeah. THAT’S why it baffled ya.
It reads like I imagine Lowell would talk–it strikes me as perfectly in character for him to think in circles like that and think nothing of it.
…still had to read it through a couple of times myself, though…
Nothing to be sorry for. Just don’t get allergies again before a deadline…
Misery Loves Company. You just got over massive germfarming and allergies pounced? Owie. My condolences.
Yay Lowell, Go Lowell Go! He’s my hero!

I’m feeling a little ramble-y.
Hung over without the buzz? Ouch.

Oh, Lowell… silence from you would be the safest course of action. Ya might stay alive a little longer!
Witches do boils as well I hear…

True. To be fair to Chunkybutt… I don’t think he’s self-aware enough to realize WHY he does much of anything. Or am I giving away too much backstory?
Lowell has significant back end, but is that the same as saying “back story”?
Lowell’s tenses… ouch. I haven’t seen so many verbs in so many knots since the last set of English papers I graded.
