I disagree. There is nothing in the term “home videos” to say that it must not be acted, just that it needs to be made at home.
Although I definitely do find spontaneous ones funnier.

I guess it’s mostly reality TV that irritates me. All the crazy yelling and plotting and offhand comments take on a freakish ring when you think, “There’s a camera in this woman’s shouting face.” Plus, there was that ‘This American Life’ radio show a while back where they talked about the behind-the-scenes of a ‘reality’ show. Takes all the ‘reality’ out of it.
