Thanks for indulging my leave of absence earlier this week. I have to admit, it’s pretty cool to have a hotshot peer group here in town.

Ah yes, things aren’t always as they seem.
At least Kara is a doctor, and on the scene.
Now here’s hoping there isn’t any damage to skin or other things, and that the million missing paintballs can be sorted out in time for the lawyers.
I *SUPPOSE* that they could sub nerf weapons but it’s not the same as paintballs… Stay tuned?
Meanwhile, Greg, looks like y’all had a blast with the gathering of cartoonists and making the kids happy at St. Jude’s. Way to go!
WE’RE not your peers?
Man, I feel like I’ve just been coated in paintball paint and left to dry…
When did Lowell get covered in pain balls? He (and I) are the only “big lumps” I know of. LoL
big lump did lowel sneak onto the scene and get that goop on him too now .
As far as my recollection goes, diesel does not give a burning sensation when applied to the skin. It stinks yes, but does not “burn.”
Gasoline on the other hand does, because it is more volatile. The burning sensation is because the fuel is rapidly evaporating and stealing heat from your body. Thus it burns. It also tastes really bad.
The worst is hexane. That one evaporates so fast that you feel like somebody put a match to your skin. It also takes away all the protective oil layer in your skin.
Thankfully never got any skin condition after being accidentally doused in all three liquids at different times in my life.
Yup. Diesel doesn’t burn unless you are allergic to it. Mild or serious.
Ohhh, this is a set up for an itch and rash joke, right?
Revenge of Lowell Karma, giving our dynamic duo a rash from the interaction between fuel and paintball pigments… I still see light haired Hubris having purple hair for awhile, and would be worse if the two are now purple for awhile (flying purple people eater jokes?????)
On farm diesel fuel used to be good suntan lotion … spend a whole day swishing tractor parts in a 55 gallon drum full of diesel, what skin that go soaked in that would turn dark and stay dark for a long time. You didn’t burn or peel. We won’t discuss what that did to your skin, but. Coppertone had nothing on the color you got from that. Just remember to alternate arms frequently so they matched…
My paternal grandmother used a backpack atomizer to spread diesel to her wooden porch to prevent vermin like termites. The light wood took a beautiful dark color thanks to the diesel. The smell after receiving a new coat is another matter.
Ah, it airs out pretty good after a few days or the first good rain. I had a favorite grey felt cowboy hat and got diesel on it. It took four good being soaked through while out in the field maneuvers to get the staining and smell out of it. You got used to the smell. The horseflies still tried to have you for lunch though.
