Betting that dude on that team, if there’s any other games gets shoved/flung out as the sacrificial target. Sounds like either from the legal team or the guy you wish you could stuff a sock in their face at the water cooler or coffee pot….
Yay! Black team! Now, who gets to decide which team member’s desk the trophy is displayed on?
I’ve been to “team building” events such as these and while there were never any political-type protests, some of us protested in our own little ways, like sneaking off into the woods or the parking lot for a “break,” or just leaving all together. They might have been more fun if they had gotten political.
Please oh please can the election be over Already?
For just this sort of reason… The rhetoric is really making me sick to my stomache (from All sides, not just one isolated jack sadly) and I really like to keep my lunch thank you.
So could you send Hubris in to tell them we’re done now… Pretty please?
I have voted in 8 presidential elections so far, and remember 3 more. Every pass I can’t believe they can possibly get worse or drag out longer but they do. I swear it’ll get to after the swearing in they’ll hang a banner off the railing that literally says ‘vote me in (4) years’ and start campaigning again. Canada calls theirs a bit more irregularly but. Their equivalent of Pres (Prime Minister) election is six weeks. That’s it. I like that idea.
Who wants to bet that guy works in Legal?
I don’t know which is worse: the fact that there are really people like this out there or that people tolerate it. Also, politics are dumb. Politicians are dumber. There used to be a time when serving in any office was a PRIVILEGE. And it was a service. You didn’t get free healthcare for the rest of your life, or make more than a hundred thousand dollars a year. Anyone else see the conflict of interest in these people voting on their own salary and benefits? It’s ridiculous. Sorry…. didn’t mean to rant. I’ll stop now.
It’s okay. On the first try for Obamacare a few politicos put in a provision that if it got voted in Congress got the same deal. it got surgically removed very early. I pay a lot more now for a lot less care, and I sure don’t consider it a ‘tax’ which is what is legally is considered. If it is a ‘tax’ then my tax burden quadrupled. It’s okay, Jonathan, I’ll stop now too.
I once got ‘best team member’ for showing up the day after I got let out from major surgery and supposed to have another week off, and made a nest on a picnic table and passed out from my meds. My manager wanted his entire staff there, no exceptions. I’d called him from hospital that my return to work date was well after the teambuilder Saturday. I had to be there. I guess the organizers got ahold of higher ups at the company and the manager was the entrée at breakfast the following Monday by a VP or two. I was awarded the best team member 3″ plastic trophy because I came (by vote) and I got a very lovely raise at my review a few weeks after I got back.
The ‘toon from April 10, 2012 was arguably more political than this one. Not complaining, since it’s still one of my favorites, particularly these lines:
Hubris: Heartless cog!
Lowell: Liberal whiner!
Both: You communist!
