When you hear people with novel and specific ideas… or conspiracy theories… or who listen to a lot of overnight call-in talk radio, say things like “It makes sense if you think about it”, that’s when you assume it’s safe to tune them out. When they’re setting up targets and are about to pick up a firearm, then maybe you want to pay close attention to what they say, and maybe smile and nod a lot. And maybe make sure they don’t have your address or phone number.
Be Serious. About what you believe in.
Be Sincere. Mean it.
This is the one I worry about with Mr. Biner……
Hurt No One With What You Do.
Either the gods will be with Hubris and it’ll be calm when he fires and he can put five shots through one hole and Mr. Biner gets the gale force wind that flips direction every five milliseconds… or for fun Hubris gets out a hand mirror, does the over his shoulder, and just out of a miracle, nails the center of that little target.
Actually you can rest assured they don´t live the message they should preach. I wouldn´t call thinking of them as closet atheists as being nuts more just vociferous in private with his view.
Is “maybe nuts” the same as “just a little bit pregnant”?
Actually, I’d rather be on a firing range with someone that doesn’t like me, than with someone who does. Someone who does like me is more likely to swing the hand holding the gun around when they talk, making it more probable they’ll shoot me by accident. With someone that doesn’t like me, I know it’s not going to be an accident.
Major truths there, Reverend TSOJ! 🙂
“Little Bit Pregnant” was back in the older days, when the home pregnancy tests were test tube affairs and you could do them wrong. Dip the strip in the little testtube you added all the proper stuff to, let it cook then compare the strip to the little chart… you were more likely to end up with a false positive than ‘nope we’re not’ … so yes, just a little bit pregnant did have meaning.
Unlike the rest of you, I go and talk to the crazies. I ask them stuff like where did you hear that? All atheists really? All? Everyone of them? Was that a poll or something? That sounds like a pile of BS and hard to believe, so convince me.
Never works, though I am easily amused.
Wouldn’t believe how many truly conservative Christians agree with him. Start preaching about equality or that God does love all people and you’d swear that some people had never learned what it meant to just act like a decent person.
