Every so often, it’s good to have a character express his humanity- to take a moment to be vulnerable and be able to admit it.
If you know people like Paste, you know they only do that when they’re yanking your chain. The unexamined life might, according to old wisdom, not be worth living… but it can certainly have a place in the comics.
He does a good deer in the headlights look in the first panel.
The beauty of comics is, we examine it for him.
Lowell is thinking, “Say what? Those are English-like words coming out of his pie hole, but none of them make sense in sentence form.”
NO ONE wants to see a troll’s face…PLEASE, someone, smack him behind the head.
When parental love wars with the urge to SQUEEZE!!!
as devil’s advocate, i say, there is something to be said for living in the moment.
for example, when you’re sitting at the top of a cliff, having paid an unheard of amount of money to jump off it in a hang glider, that really isn’t the time to think of how your life came to that place. if one Does stop to think at that moment, it is highly likely that a normal Sane person would forfeit the money and run for safer ground away from the cliff.
so, yes, there’s something to be said for living in the moment… especially if you already have a screw or twenty loose.
Oh.. you are my lawyer now?
*Dumps a metric ^^^^Ton of subpoenas on your desk.*
