We all want the cool stuff… the rare stuff… even the unique stuff. That stuff? Expensive. And, even if money’s no object? Possibly impossible to get. Maybe it doesn’t exist. Of course, that negates a lot of the shopping that the famous and wealthy are doing, so don’t let on.

Sell’m an iShoe, and make the guy go onto a waiting list. Take some stain polish to that pair to make them a different shade, so, unique. Then sell him the shoes and add $20 for the $2 of dye you used.
Why else did I wait three months to get my pocket slab? It worked there, it ought to work to sell shoes (sandals have a sort of slabby sole….)
Hubris: “If I carried it, people would buy it. It’s kind of hard to carry something that I’m not actually selling. However, let’s do this. I’ll give you the names of 4 shoes that I don’t carry and therefore that no one ELSE can buy, either. There will be a waiting list, but if you pre-order your pair, I’ll give you a 20% discount. Just give your credit card and I’ll let you know when we get them in.”
Customized shoe. Easy.
hubris will be able to solve this easily by customizing an older pair of those shoes and customer satified.
