I was under the impression her dad was dead. Perhaps just seriously estranged.
Lot more dramatic if seriously estranged. Really really awful: she’s Chase R. Ambule’s daughter and he owes decades of child support, and she doesn’t know. Sorta good, he’s some rival of David Fortis… heh.
I’m definitely writing that one down, and attributing it!!
