I’ve gotten too accustomed to my little inking routine- Place the pencils on the light table, affix some low-tack tape, drop down a fresh sheet of heavy drawing paper, take out my lettering pens…
Hold on. This one has no word balloons.
It’s been a while since I did a Hubris cartoon with no word balloons. The last one I can think of was the one with the twisty borders filled with Hubris’ nervous dreamscape. I don’t think that one had a word balloon…
Of course, the concept and layout of that one was different enough that I wasn’t surprised when there wasn’t any lettering to do.
This one took me by surprise, somehow.
It’s been a long day.
“…”
Must…have…coffee.
Nah, works best without dialog.
Ah, the calm before the storm, and possibly the last time everybody is content. Rules will be explained, teams will be made, then let the games begin.
Afterwards, what? Analysis, introspection, insight? Or grumbles, complaints, accusations? Here’s wishing you success, Hubie. May they all climb back on the bus tired, dirty, happy, and a little more aware of the worth of their fellow man.
Sorry, too much philosophy.
And not enough coffee.
May they pay their invoice promptly.
odds are they are going to need that energy from the coffee. with hubris and co drinking it more to have the energy to deal with the event itself nearing its end.
for one can never go wrong with coffee
Coffee and Booze … the lubricants that make the world go round. LoL
And (paintball)gums and ammo!
Ah, love the Peanuts reference in 3rd panel.
At least they remembered the coffee this time and don’t have to “Smuggle” in it lol.
