I grabbed a different brush today. You might not think about high-end watercolor brushes, and the fact that they wear out.
I caught myself working with a newer brush and really enjoying all the snap and the little tiny lines it can make.
Every career has its little things like that- the sort of thing that people in different careers can’t be aware of. That’s fun to think about.
A good tool is always a pleasure to wield.
Yep, one of the top rules of part-ology (after bring in the old one to match up the new one) is don’t pull the part until the person is there. Heh.
Greg, tell me about it. Just the other day, I was running another experiment on the lab’s new Gamow 3000, slamming hydrogen ions into gold atoms, and the sparkle of the reactions, the sting of ozone in the air – it was NOTHING like the old G-2K. But don’t get me wrong, the G-2K is a great workhorse. Most reliable smasher on the planet.
I hope you set your Alpha and your Beta correctly on your Gamow, otherwise, it’s all gonna be Greek to me…
Lame, but that’s as close to a physics gag as I can whip up at this point of the morning.
If coffee will help, I’m willing to wait a few hours for it to kick in and you can try again…
Can you wait until I slog through a couple more Brian Greene and Stephen Jay Gould books? Maybe watch the original ‘Cosmos’ again, or listen to a James Burke audiobook. I gotta get some kind of brain chemistry moving.
You asked nicely, so, “yes, I can wait.”
You can try wikipedia, under “useless physics buzzwords”, too. That’s been amazingly useful to me in the past.
I just love hearing craftsmen talk about their trade. It’s almost fun as watching them work, or teach, it.
I know I feel the same when I have a new tablet, mouse or keyboard for what I do.
I love the face of the guy on the last panel. it’s like he is ready to go “my preeeecious!” HEHE
Oh yeah, geekheaven is new gear. Or managing to find another for the one you wore out before the project deadline nails you. Went to a convention on a coast last year and my geekbag weighed more than my carryon. I got my exercise! And enough state of the art geektoys to be envied. 🙂 I do love the tablet and stylus though. You’ll never go back once you get one.
oh, I KNOW. I just know I have a good poker face to hide it. Because I WORKED WITH JAPAN, and I kept bringing back ALL THOSE GOODIES, geek and manga related, that everyone would try to MUG ME.
and even now, I have most originals about a bunch of VERY loved artist in my community…but I am not telling ANYONE. only my wife knows about it, and VERY CLOSE FRIENDS I can trust.
I am not a bragger, and I can keep a straight poker face through a gun to my head, to the point of making the person DOUBT themselves. I was a salesman after all.
But, THAT guy is funny because on how he looks ready to POUNCE AND CURL UP AROUND IT, growling at ANYONE coming through. Probably, even BEFORE paying it.
She’s smart. Hubris was lucky she came to work there.
WAY MORE RELIABLE than Lowell and Paste. and despite some “daddy issues”, probably more stable than the “Houdini one” lol
I came home to a pile of mail. One of the packages had a picture of Kara on the front……I opened that one first. WOW….blown away here. Thanks soooooooo much for the 3!! original art strips AND the Hubris hat and pin. I love this comic. Its is the only one on my reading list that deals with real life things I like to do…hike and play.
they knew from the start might as well make it a reality now .
