Double strip today. And when I say ‘strip’, I’m talking ‘comic’, not degrees of nekkidness- and that’s despite what some of the contestants are wearin’.

Oghods, looks like you’re reading etiquetteh*ll and they just started a rabid rant on there about reality TV…
Love it love it love it, on the lineup. I can dump it in my graphics cruncher and color it myself with an older strip to capture colors. I KNOW BETTER than to download it to my tablet and color it in. With say crayons or markers. hehehehe… hope you are enjoying yourself in New Orleans and we want pictures! (No ‘what happens in NO stays in NO’ stuff)
My money’s on Saint Mongo.
nicer in color 🙂
Going from the black ‘n white to the color just demonstrates how much effort goes into making Hubris. Beautiful work here, Greg!
So, where did Team US go? Is Jacob giving the rest of the starters a handicap?
Honestly… There are some good reasons to keep the caricatures to a minimum, aside from the old “They’re more special if they’re rare” thing. There’s a lot of opportunity to mess them up the more often you draw someone, and caricatures stand out against the more cartoony characters in the strip. Also, I was having waaay too much fun cramming the lineup full of weird looking people to toss a normal person in there. Starting the first sketch, I assumed I’d put Team Us in there, and originally the characters were supposed to go off the end of the panel, and by then I could have said “Jacob’s in there somewhere, just off to the left of the border…”
Now you know more about my process than you probably wanted…
No I don’t.
I agree, I snagged the B&W, stuck it in my bitbuster, turned on the conor palette, opened a few more older strip images to swipe ‘flat color’ and do dumpfill to color up the strip myself…
I sure missed on some skintone choices and there is shading that I skipped. Yes I ended up with a colorized strip but nothing like the science of the art of the science of HUBRIS.
Made me appreciate what y’all do to entertain us great-unwashed-masses, Greg.
Hmm… did Hubris keep the internet rights? If so, he can become a YouTube partner and make a bit more money.
I like the line up. I didn’t even think to look to see if I was there. And if you come out of the water in the first 10% of the competition you have a good shot at coming from behind in the bike and run.
Anyone else think Kara looks like Velma, from Scooby Doo, in this scene?
