I’m sure there was a reason Mr. Biner was able to make that connection, but I don’t see it.
Because Biner took the Silver in that Games, and he vividly remembers whose butt he’d kicked.
I skip the dullest parts of the conversation and get to the important bits. There were a couple of strips that were originally written into this part that were just dull. I left them out. One of them had a lot of stuff about Hubris’ dad you don’t wanna have to bother with. That he’s Austrian doesn’t MEAN anything, but that’s where we pick the conversation back up.

What’s it take to be an American Citizen? Born here. (and able to prove same). Going through Naturalization. I am not certain but if you could be here legally then performed 3 years serving in our military and leave with a general or honorable discharge; you were allowed to take the oath. I know that is how it used to be, not certain if you still can do that.
By same argument, if Mr. Biner is white causcasian, he’s not native then either if he won’t accept that US born Hubris is an American Citizen.
I don’t blame Kara there, shooting the target is preferable to causing bodily harm to her parental unit… though he may deserve it by all familial traditions and norms.
doesn’t matter if hubris dad is austrin for if hubris was born here he is still a u.s citien. and kara is proably picturing the target being mr binder.
Problem being you still need to look at the target when you’re shooting, and it doesn’t look like Kara is . . . although I highly suspect there isn’t much left of the bull’s eye (or vital areas of a silhouette, or whatever she’s aiming for.)

I remember confessing to two girls that I was “as Aussie as they are” and meaning it… One was of Middle Eastern descent, the other of Asian descent, and both were shocked. Apparently I was the first “white” person to call them Aussie, despite the fact that they were both born over here. I thought this utterly weird: How could they not be Aussie, when even anyone such as myself (of European descent) has only had family here for 200 years at most? I take it the same sort of thing can be seen in America.
Or is Mr Biner going to claim American Aboriginal Heritage? That could be interesting…
He might be part. Depending on the tribe you may be a member for 1/8th or less blood. I know a few went to 1/32 just to have some members to keep the reservation lands… I have 1/4 and 1/8th neighbors and friends you wouldn’t know were.
