Just make it a tribute to one of the all time greatest comics and call it what it is: “The Calvin&Hobbes Downhill Mudbath” or what Ed suggested.
I’m 99% sure, if you use C&H (and put a note at the bottom, the author will be ok with it… if he sues … well …)
