Of course Bob would see the need for Hubris to make himself scarce, and of course he’s happy to offer up whatever advice he can.
Bob’s that kinda guy.
The kinda guy that’s reportedly sleeping in the walls somewhere somehow, and doesn’t mind if someone else has the same mad skillz.
After all this is over, they could have some kinda hours-long zen/ninja game of Hide N’ Seek, after all.
Bob: “Grasshopper, snatch this pebble from my hand.”
Hubris: “Who said that?”
I want to be Bob… Especially with the world as it is nowadays.
Sometimes even I, MYSELF need a turn to spend some time with me.
Even 24 hours in a motel room with a pizza place that will deliver, and a bed that isn’t a rock to sleep on… would do Hubris a lot of good.
But if there is ANYONE that is the epitome of ‘A Dude Abides’ it’s Bob.
I think if Hubris just leaves a note about taking a short ‘me’ vacation and goes away for a day or two just to catch up with himself. Then sell the event. Dangle it between Foris and Wang and let them see if they can outbid each other, then retire to the store and his older way of life.
And notice, there’s a shadow in the corner, maybe the bait will work?
Wow, I didn’t even notice that familiar silhouette in the final panel until you pointed it out. Good eye!
You have to sometimes look at the art very carefully… and sometimes we catch something too. (Hubris in his vehicle with Kara, with kayaks on the rack, dropped Paste off at David’s house. And on the way out, there weren’t any kayaks on top, I pointed that out and Greg drew them in and adjusted it.) Heh.
Bob IS the master at disappearing.
So, Bob wasn’t being sarcastic with that note?
I guess not. Bob isn’t into sarcasm.
Bob did the best he could for Hubris. Which at that time was leave that note.
