So they got these ducks who live in the penthouse… by the time they’re trained to take the elevator down, walk the red carpet to the lobby fountain… 6 months? They’re off to live at a farm and another team of ducks take over? What, are they busy looking for the elevator after they’ve been moved?!?
In 1999 I had the pleasure of staying at the Peabody for a week long conference. Great city; the jazz, the bbq (which was some of the best I’ve ever eaten). But I have never heard of the ducks until I checked in.
I watch the ceremony as they put out the red carpet and the elevator opened and those ducks nearly ran to that fountain. The first thought that popped into my head? “That’s the damnedest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
You painted a mural for the Peabody ducks? No way!
(It’s a beautiful mural–those are some lucky ducks!)
Kewl. Lucky Ducks
Beautiful work, Greg!
I hope you remembered Hubris’ advice to Paste about giving the banker accountant paintball training…
Viaduct?
Great job, Greg! Beautifully rendered! Can’t wait to see it in person this spring! Bravo!!
Nice.
If I was a Peabody duck, your mural would make me homesick. Very nice work, even if you had to “go” there.
Never heard of the Peabody ducks until now.
You’re probably not alone in that. Unless you’ve done the Memphis Tourist Thing, chances are there’d be little opportunity to hear about them.
Love watching the ducks come down in the morning to swim in the lobby fountain.
Forgot to say the ducks use the elevators
‘Course they do! You can’t expect their li’l legs to navigate the stairs. They’re, like, Celebrities!

That is awesome!! I *love* the Peabody ducks!!
