Cartoonists are such thugs. Here we are: me, Jeff Keane (Family Circus), and Scott Stantis (Chicago Tribune, Prickly City) wantonly vandalizing a coffee table in a private citizen’s home. (John Hambrock-The Brilliant Mind Of Edison Lee)
The only thing that kept us out of jail, I guess, was that we asked permission first.
At least you’re using markers, not crayons.
It’s a coffee table, not the wall.
You asked first.
You don’t have marker anywhere but on the table. Not on yourselves…
Kewl, what was the reason for the graffiti-fest?
If you look closely at the table, there are other markings already there. Looks like maybe a tradition thing.
Greg, have you ever seen the door from the dorm apartment building Osamu Tezuka (Atom Boy, Kimba the White Lion) used to live at in the 1950’s? Vandals, I tells ya!
That was a thing we did at last year’s Kenosha Festival of Cartooning. Others that doodled on the table were Todd Clark (Lola) Terri Liebenson (Pajama Diaries) Rick Stromoski (Soup To Nutz), Lincoln Peirce (Big Nate) and Denis Kitchen (Kitchen Sink Press). It’s a lovely thing. There’ll probably be more added at this year’s Fest in September. Anyone who has a chance should attend.
I hereby give you all permission (Kene, Stanis, and Cravens) to come to MY house, and ‘vandalize’ MY table with their original art work!!! Come! QUICK!!
Y’all can come and do the same on my table, and I cook real good and have cold beer in the fridge….
