What’s with the Watterson-Pastis crossover strips, Greg? Please tell me you pocketed the original artwork!
They’re going to be auctioned soon to raise money for Parkinson’s Research. Pocketing them would have gotten me tackled and ridden out of town on a rail. Check on Heritage Auction’s website to see when they go on sale. I bet they turn a tidy penny.

Well, since Watterson doesn’t have a strip to crossover to any more, I guess Pastis is left swingin’ in the wind.
If you’re not familiar with the history of the above Watterson-Pastis strips, I think Greg would be willing to tell you about it…
Okay. Is he going to appear as a guest artist?
Bill Watterson appeared as an unannounced guest artist on ‘Pearls Before Swine’ … I wish I was a hotshot enough to be asked to guest artist on such a high-profile strip. It could happen, but you guys might have to spread the word about Hubris until it becomes a web-juggernaut.

Bring ’em on. If anyone would like to do some Hubris drawing for whatever reason (promote your own skills, draw attention to their own webcomic, just for funnies) I will show it off in the appropriate manner. Sounds like a good thing to run on a Thursday or a weekend.

Read the Watterson-Pastis strips, wondered who was doing the drawing, then read about Watterson coming out of retirement (albeit briefly) to guest-draw them, and the story behind the creation of the panels. Love “Pearls” almost as much as Hubris, and “Calvin” is a favorite classic (right behind “Bloom County”) so it was great seeing it, and they were quite humorous. Great collaboration on their part. Speaking of “Bloom County”, maybe we could talk Berke Breathed into doing something on “Hubris” (noticed his work immediately in “Second-hand Lions” movie.)
Ooooh, THAT’d be cool Berke Breathed working on a few Hubris strips. I wonder what the best way to get in touch would be…
