For this stunt to work, one must try and fail enough times to work out the kinks. The issue with the video is that the fellow flying through the air obviously has functional knees, a whole spine, no obvious head trauma, and is sporting to casts on his limbs. It just doesn’t add up.
‘Feelingforya’ sent the link to the video with the comment “He’s not wearing a helmet.”
I guess it’s some ‘cool factor’ thing, and I know I must look goofy in my helmet (even though the helmet is itself pretty cool lookin’) when surrounded by guys flying around on their skateboards and bikes and NOT wearing helmets, but I’ve cracked helmets while wearing them. I know what they’re good for. Chances are that Flip Boy there will sustain some trauma here and there, and it’s possible he’ll live to say stuff like “I’ve never worn a helmet and it’s never been a problem.” On the other hand, he might just loll to one side and drool a little and people will make the comment, “Hey, a helmet wouldn’t have saved him. It’s better that he rode his own way.”
The more telling one is the vid afterwards on the lower left click… that shows him body and face slamming it practicing the move over a planter divider on a 2 level parking area. If the first board doesn’t stop at the top it could mess everything up at the bottom. And don’t think about it on landing on top of two boards, one possibly upside down, at the bottom.
Yes I said he had no helmet. Landing wrong on that one could just be plain fatal…. I finally gave in to at least wearing knee, elbow protection and palm gloves… helmet was a vain hope on not scraping half my scalp off.
No helmet?

I miss having functional knees.

video won’t load on my dialup computer. is this the one of the iowa kid doing a backflip from one board over 6 stairs to another board?
