Some friends of mine did a cardboard and duct tape boat race somewhere somewhen in the past, but I don’t have video of it, but I thought you guys might like seeing such a thing. I was hoping for some wild-and-crazy fun videos, but those must be hard to make. Here’s some slightly entertaining footage.

As you can see, a lot of them didn’t waterproof their contraptions enough and they were too flat. And too squishy… it’s not that hard to add some bracing of triangular or square tubing along the long running edges!
If we only had some water around here other than my waterlily choked ponds, I’d actually sponsor one of these… just had a brainwave how we could do this with a massive tarp or chunk of heavy sheeting and hay bales for edges, spike a few rows into the ground, line, fill, and have a new fair event! Thanks!
Rent a high volume water pump, put it on a hill, and you have a (nearly) instant luge run.
Aye. Duct tape on the inside, make it deep, and have hand (mitten type paddles).
