Dusty’s starting to get the use of her staff writer.
I mean, USUALLY, she reads what he wrote and she goes off on her own thing.
This time, she seems to be relying on others to steer her to the most subtle and devious cut-downs imaginable.
Nothing could go wrong now.
…nothing at all.
Subtle as a freight train. Ain’t she sweet, bless her heart.
Legend has it – great line, writer
Durnell has never looked better. He should find out who Dusty’s photog is and buy the photos off him/her.
Shelly needs to punch Dusty in her mouth, and knock out a few teeth.
I’d spend extra on that.
I remember way back when Hubris subbed for Dusty on her program. She’d been injured, or was ill, or something.
I had no idea she would turn out to be such a villain.
I wonder if Greg intended her to be evil from the start, or if the idea sprang upon him along the way…
In the very original version of the comic strip, Hubris’ name was very appropriate, and he was a less-than-sympathetic character. He was a kind of Proto-Dusty. Not mean, but thoughtless and overconfident without any real reason to be. Dusty’s the long-term iteration of that idea- thoughtless, overconfident, and also, ultimately, mean.
Many thanks for that background, Mr. Cravens. It will be fascinating–and satisfying I’m sure–to see how Durnell puts Dusty in her place.
Assuming that happens.
If this segment isn’t a declaration of war, then I don’t know what is.
As a proud member of Team Durnell, I patiently wait for her to get her glorious comeuppance.
How long before they are married?
